This is a 'new & improved' version of my original pattern. Everything about it has been revamped, from the pattern pieces themselves to the instruction manual, which now includes detailed illustrations and clearer steps.
I call it a Versatile Blouse pattern because I've used it to make a few different renditions; with a band collar, with an open keyhole front neckline, as a mini dress by extending the hemline.
Original neckline, with front waist darts left unstitched for a looser fit
All darts stitched.
With a boat neckline; made by first extending the shoulder line, which then also allowed for the inclusion of the cap sleeves after redrawing the armscye.
Length of the blouse extended into a mini dress.
I plan to do extension tutorials on how to adapt the pattern for all the versions listed above, possibly plus a few more. Further details of the pattern can be found here, where you can also purchase it.

I started sewing at 9 years old. Yes, I was that child who cut old table cloths to make floral printed dresses for her stuffed animals. Two decades later, I quit a steady career in teaching to start my own business in the apparel industry. It's been a couple more decades and I can't seem to stop (yes, I have tried). So with a sense of joyous resignation, I continue to create custom clothing and patterns, and find time to teach drafting and sewing at my studio and online.
